Favorite Place - Bavarian Alps

The Alps in Bavaria Germany are a truly beautiful place.  I was born in Germany, and I have seen many of the big cities during visits, but nothing compares to the nature.

This last summer I got to visit Germany and spend a weekend in the mountains.  The city was called Berchtesgaden which is really close to the Königsee.  My family took lots of photos of the picturesque region.

The whole area was full of tourists, which was really the only downside.  The alps had hiking trails, boat rides, and lots of gift shops.  I even got to swim in the lake.  The water was incredibly clear, although it was very cold.

If anybody gets the change to visit Europe, I would definitely recommend that you go spend a few days in the Alps as part of your visit.

  1. What lovely pictures, Carmen! Fabulous! I did not realize you were born in Germany. And did you speak German at home when you were little? Would you be interested in doing a German project for this class? There are so many great resources in English, and even better when you can explore the German-language sources too! There is a site called Sacred Texts, and it has a whole section of books devoted to German myth and legend: Sacred Texts: Germany. And a side note: your blog design is LOVELY. I really like that water-splash background! It is beautiful but at the same time not distracting. Great choice!

    1. I don't think I will want to focus on Germany for my class project. Although it's a place that I love, it's not something I want to focus on when writing stories. I will probably pick something in the fantasy type Genre. When I was younger I actually wanted to become a fantasy novel writer. It could definitely work as the setting for my stories though.

  2. Wow it is really cool that you are from Germany! I have always wanted to go there and people always say great things about it but they usually never go to the Alps during their travels. I will definitely consider going to the Alps though because I love the mountains. Do you get to go back and visit Germany often?
